Got the lady a new bike. Mountain bike. Giant. You know how we do.
Its a pretty sweet ride. She's got pole position in the bike room, so I've been checking out all the nooks and cranny's all week.
It was fun to ride with her. H took her first dinger, sacrificing her body for the good of the bike like a true mtb'er. Bruised her hand pretty good but got back on with a smile.
I think she's pretty much hooked because she pulled this out of someone's trash heap:
I road the Battle Road this week.
It was pretty cool. Until I flatted and discovered that the stem on the tube that I had was too short for the dish of the wheels. I road a flat for about 40min to get to Concord and get to the other shop. Good times.
The Battle Road is cool because its away from cars and out in the woods. I really had to pee but there are markers like this all over:
I can't take a pee where people have died. Its just not right.
There were lots of uber old houses complete with people playing dress up.
The build to Nationals has begun. Exciting times except for the fact that all week I was riding with a heart rate cap. It makes you look foolish when your all kitted up on a sweet whip and you've got guys like this following you for miles:
But hey, the goal here is to be going fast when it counts, not putting the hurt on mr. weekend rider.
Lots of Dirt Game offerings this weekend. It'll be good to throw down.
As we say in the hood, Game on.
